About the event
Danielle Smith is organizing a Townhall in Red Deer titled "Alberta Next Panel" to engage with Albertans on July 15th, though the venue is yet to be decided. The Indigenous, Métis, and Inuit communities continue to be overlooked during these 'Townhalls'.
The plan is to attend and have participants either sit in the townhall with signs, wear Indigenous Sovereignty in Alberta clothing, orange shirts, or carry flags, or stand outside to demonstrate that the Indigenous, Métis, and Inuit communities are present and that treaties in Alberta must be honored, respected, and acknowledged.
A strict reminder to all attendees: we are committed to non-violence, and any aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. If confronted with aggression, seek a safe place and only engage with those attending if it involves sharing information or having constructive discussions. Our intentions are peaceful and positive.
More information will follow.
